Overview

Facilities with stationary emergency diesel engines must obtain a permit from the local air district. Stationary diesel engine permits typically require annual renewal. Check the expiration date of the permit to ensure it is current. If an facility does not have a permit for a stationary emergency diesel engine, contact the agency immediately to find out the process for obtaining a current permit. Note: an older, unpermitted engine, might not be eligible for a permit. Legal operation might require replacement with a newer, cleaner engine.

If you already have a stationary emergency diesel engine permit, but it has expired follow the general steps for permit renewal.
